About Me
Tia Johnson is a recent Professional School Counselor graduate at Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC. She specializes in counseling Urban Students. It is her passion and purpose to help students and families develop healthy coping skills in an empathetic and supportive environment to take on the many stressors of life. Tia has served in various educational roles within the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. All of which have contributed to her wealth of knowledge and her desire to help adolescents grow.
Tia’s approach to therapy is integrative. She incorporates techniques and skills from widely used counseling theories such a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy. She aspires to provide individual and group counseling; implement assessment and consultation services; and develop, direct, and evaluate comprehensive counseling services so that she can help underprivileged populations. She seeks to be a champion for change, ensuring that all adolescents receive first-class mental healthcare in this country.
